The New York Vintage
By now the vintage is a type of product increasingly sought and appreciated at international level but it is especially in New York that this happens. Proof of this is the continued opening of vintage and thrift shops that are appearing in every corner of the city, especially in Williamsburg, a neighborhood outside Manhattan. Obviously the opening of shops is also accompanied by the growth of markets and events entirely related to the themes of vintage and craftsmanship. Two of the most popular are surely the BROOKLYN FLEA + SMORGASBURG and the ARTISTS & FLEAS.
The first occur in Williamsburg, New York, where the event is held every year on the weekend and it is a market entirely dedicated to vintage and crafts with the participation of many stands where you can find each type of food.
During winter, the event moves to Brooklyn, inside of the Industry City, ex factory now converted into an alternative exhibition space than hosting a lot of events during the year like food festivals and art exhibitions.
At Brooklyn Flea + Smorgaburg take part more than 100 vendors that offer furniture items and crafts design, vintage clothing, collectibles and more. There are also many stands offering various types of food, from ramen burger to cactus juice. All set in the context of the former factory, perfectly appropriate and suitable to host this type of event.
A similar event but not the same is ARTIST & FLEAS. We are also in New York but in two different locations: Williamsburg and Chelsea Market. All year round during the weekend, the market offers a range of crafts, jewelry, clothing and accessories, propose by small independent retailers.
If you are in New York these are definitely two perfect places to spend an alternative weekend, full of vintage, good food and crafts.
